One mission: hunt them down, tick them off and build the ultimate collection before anyone else. Every car you add moves you up the live leaderboard, and the collector sitting on top when the flag drops on 15 December 2026 walks away with a mystery prize so wild we are not even allowed to whisper about it. Rules and regulations

Here is exactly how the 2026 Hot Wheels Collector Challenge works — South Africa’s biggest diecast collecting competition. Read these before you start hunting, and check the full terms and conditions below.

  1. Most models wins. The hunter with the most 2026 mainline models when the competition closes on 15 December 2026 at 23:59 (SAST) will be announced as the winner.
  2. Tie-breaker: carded beats loose. If two or more entrants finish with the same number of models, the winner is the one with the most models still sealed in the original card/packaging.
    We see you, carded collectors. Yes, ripping open that blister pack is tempting — but around here, a mint-on-card beauty is the difference between “nice collection” and “champion”. So resist the urge, keep those cards crisp and those bubbles un-popped — your future trophy-holding self says thank you.
  3. Buy anywhere in South Africa. Entrants may buy their Hot Wheels from any store — big retailer, local toy shop, hobby store or online shop — as long as the seller is located within South Africa.
  4. Photo proof on closing day. On 15 December 2026, every entrant must email a clear photo of their collection to from the same email address used to register. The models in the photo must belong to you — shop shelves and borrowed cars do not count.
  5. Winner announced on 31 December 2026. After all collections are verified, the winner will be announced on this page and contacted by email on 31 December 2026.
  6. Free to enter. Registration costs nothing. Buying the cars is part of the hobby, not an entry fee — no purchase from unnew.co.za is required to enter or win.
  7. Who may enter. South African residents aged 18 or older. Entrants under 18 need permission from a parent or legal guardian. One account per person — duplicate accounts will be removed.
  8. What counts. Only the 250 official 2026 Hot Wheels mainline models (collector numbers 001–250) listed on this page count. Colour variations of the same collector number do not count as extra models.
  9. Honesty & verification. Your checklist works on the honour system, but before any prize is awarded the organiser may ask leading entrants for additional photo or video proof of the physical cars. False ticks, fake photos or multiple accounts mean instant disqualification.
  10. Fair play exclusions. In line with the Consumer Protection Act, the competition is not open to directors, employees, members, partners, agents or consultants of the promoter, their immediate family or household members, or any supplier of goods or services connected to the competition.
  11. The prize. The prize is a mystery prize, revealed only when the winner is announced. It is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.
  12. Claiming the prize. The winner is contacted via the registered email address and must respond within 14 days. If there is no response, the prize may be awarded to the next leading verified entrant or decided by lucky draw.
  13. Publicity. The winner’s first name and collection may be announced on this page and our social channels. Photos of the winner are only published with the winner’s consent, and agreeing to publicity is never a condition of winning.
  14. Your privacy (POPIA). Personal information is used only to run this competition and contact the winner, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act.
  15. Final decisions & changes. The organiser’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The organiser may amend these rules or suspend or cancel the competition if circumstances beyond its control require it; any changes will be published on this page. The competition is governed by South African law.
  16. Independent spirit. This competition is organised by unnew.co.za and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mattel or Hot Wheels.

Terms and conditions

  1. The 2026 Hot Wheels Collector Challenge (“the competition”) is organised by unnew.co.za. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Mattel or Hot Wheels.
  2. The competition runs from the date this page is published until 15 December 2026 at 23:59 South African Standard Time. No entries or updates after closing time will count.
  3. Entry is free. To enter, register on this page with your name and surname, a valid email address and a password. One account per person.
  4. Entrants must be South African residents aged 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  5. The challenge covers the 250 Hot Wheels 2026 mainline models (collector numbers 001 to 250) listed on this page. Colour variations of the same collector number do not count as extra models.
  6. Progress is recorded on the honour system when you tick off models. On 15 December 2026, all entrants must email a clear photo of their collection to from their registered email address. Before any prize is awarded, the organiser may also ask the leading entrant(s) for additional photo or video proof of the physical collection.
  7. The winner is the entrant who has collected the most models when the competition closes, after verification. If two or more entrants finish with the same number of models, the winner is the one with the most models still sealed in the original card/packaging. If entrants are still tied after this count, a lucky draw will be held between the joint leaders to choose the winner. The lucky draw will be recorded and the result is final.
  8. The prize is a mystery prize and will not be disclosed before the winner is announced. The prize is not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
  9. The winner will be announced on this page and contacted by email on 31 December 2026, once all collections have been verified. If the winner does not respond within 14 days, the organiser may award the prize to the next leading entrant or hold another lucky draw.
  10. Your personal information is used only to run this competition and contact the winner, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
  11. The organiser may disqualify any entrant suspected of fraud, false entries or multiple accounts. The organiser’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12. The organiser may amend these terms or cancel the competition if circumstances beyond its control require it. Any changes will be published on this page.
  13. The model list is based on the public 2026 Hot Wheels mainline listing and is updated as Mattel reveals new models during the year.
